"Dance of the Vampires" is a classic of film history and a masterpiece of director Roman Polanski from 1967. The film is about Professor Abronsius, who together with his assistant Alfred is searching for vampires in Transylvania. They meet the Count of Krolock, who kidnaps Alfred's great love Sarah. The two pursue the Count to his castle and experience a variety of bizarre and exciting adventures there.
Jack MacGowran shines in the leading roles as the whimsical Professor Abronsius, Roman Polanski himself as Alfred and Ferdy Mayne as Count von Krolock. Douglas Slocombe's camerawork is impressive, creating a somber atmosphere that fits the film's setting perfectly. The music by composer Krzysztof Komeda is another highlight of the film and gives it a unique atmosphere.
