Paul Newman, born January 26, 1925 in Shaker Heights, Ohio, was an American actor, director, entrepreneur and philanthropist. He is considered one of the greatest Hollywood legends of the 20th century.
Newman began his acting career in the 1950s and quickly became known for his charismatic presence and acting talent. He was known for his ability to embody a variety of characters, from rebellious anti-heroes to sensitive characters with deep emotions.
Some of his most famous films are "The Cat on the Hot Tin Roof" (1958), for which he received an Oscar nomination, "The Crook and the Good Lord" (1969), "The Sting" (1973), for which he won an Oscar, and "The Color of Money" (1986), for which he received his second Oscar. He also worked closely with director Robert Redford, starring in the films "Two Bandits" (1969) and "The Indomitable" (1972).
