Suraj Sharma is an Indian actor who became internationally known for his notable performance in the award-winning film Life of Pi: Shipwreck with Tiger (2012). He was born on March 21, 1993 in New Delhi, India.

Suraj Sharma had no professional acting experience when he was chosen for the lead role in "Life of Pi." Director Ang Lee was looking for an inexperienced actor who could embody the role of Pi Patel, a young Indian castaway. Sharma went through an intense casting process and was eventually selected to play the challenging role.
