"Baywatch" is a 2017 action comedy film based on the popular 1990s television series. The film tells the story of former Olympic swimmer Matt Brody, played by Zac Efron, who joins the Baywatch team to restore his reputation. At his side is the charismatic and experienced lifeguard Mitch Buchannon, played by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, who leads his team with an iron hand.
When the team encounters a criminal conspiracy that threatens the future of the entire bay, the Baywatch rescuers must prove their skills and overcome their rivalries to save the day. Together with the other team members, including the beautiful and smart newcomer Summer, played by Alexandra Daddario, and the wily CJ, played by Kelly Rohrbach, they risk everything to save the lives of the people in the bay. David Hasselhoff, who played Mitch Buchannon in the Origanl series, makes a guest appearance.
The film was directed by Seth Gordon, while the camera work was done by Eric Steelberg. The film received mixed reviews, but became a commercial success at the box office.
