In the early 1700s, the cartographer Jonathan Green is released from his imprisonment in Russia on the condition that he remain in the East and not return to England. The Russian tsar, who is imprisoned in the London Tower behind an iron mask with a Chinese dragon master, is freed by a ruse and flees back to his homeland. However, fate ensures that their paths cross there, where the most dangerous adventure in Asia is to be passed.
