Jackie Chan is a Chinese actor, film producer, director, screenwriter, singer and stuntman born in Hong Kong on April 7, 1954. He is known for his unique blend of action and humor in his films and is considered one of the most famous and influential actors in Chinese cinema.

Chan was born in Hong Kong and grew up in poor circumstances. His parents were refugees from the Chinese Civil War and worked as domestic servants in a wealthy family. Chan was a hyperactive child and had difficulty succeeding in school. When he was seven years old, his parents sent him to China Drama Academy, an acting school, to learn discipline and self-confidence.

Chan quickly became a star at the school and began his film career in the 1970s as a stuntman and actor in Hong Kong. He quickly gained fame and became known throughout Asia. In the 1980s, he also tried to gain a foothold in Hollywood, starring in films such as "The Big Brawl" and "The Cannonball Run." However, it wasn't until the movie "Rush Hour" in 1998, in which he starred alongside Chris Tucker, that he became a superstar in the United States as well.

Chan has appeared in over 150 films in his career and has won numerous awards, including an honorary Oscar in 2016 for his services to film. In addition to his career as an actor and stuntman, he is also a singer and entrepreneur and has his own production company, the Jackie Chan Group. Chan is also known for his social commitment and has contributed to numerous charities.
