Bud Spencer, born Carlo Pedersoli on October 31, 1929 in Naples, Italy, was an Italian actor, film producer, swimmer and former professional water polo player. He was best known and loved for his collaboration with actor Terence Hill in numerous action comedies.

Pedersoli began his athletic career as a swimmer and was a member of the Italian national team that participated in the 1952 and 1956 Olympic Games. He broke several Italian swimming records and won several national titles. He later switched to water polo and became part of the Italian national team.

In the 1960s, Pedersoli discovered his passion for acting and changed his name to Bud Spencer. Together with Terence Hill, he formed a popular duo that became famous for their funny and action-packed movies. Movies like "Four Fists for One Hallelujah" (1971), "Two Like Pitch and Brimstone" (1974) and "Banana Joe" (1982) achieved cult status and made Bud Spencer an international star.
