Katey Sagal, born January 19, 1954 in Los Angeles, California, is an American actress, singer and songwriter.
Sagal began her career in the 1970s as a backup singer for various artists and also performed as a solo artist. In the 1980s she was part of the band The Group With No Name and also released her first solo album. She had some success as a singer, but she eventually found her true calling in acting.
A turning point in Sagal's career came in 1987, when she took on the role of Peggy Bundy in the popular sitcom "Married with Children" This role brought her great recognition and made her a familiar face on television. She embodied Peggy Bundy with her distinctive humor and quirky personality and became one of the most popular TV moms of all time.
