Brad Pitt (born December 18, 1963 in Shawnee, Oklahoma) is an American actor and film producer.

Pitt grew up in Springfield, Missouri and later studied journalism at the University of Missouri. After graduation, he moved to Los Angeles to become an actor. His first major success came in 1991 with the role in "Thelma & Louise." However, his breakthrough as a Hollywood star came in 1994 with "Interview with a Vampire" and "Legends of Passion". In the following years, Pitt starred in numerous successful films such as "Fight Club," "Ocean's Eleven," "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" and "Inglourious Basterds."

In addition to his career as an actor, Pitt is also a producer. He founded the production company Plan B Entertainment in 2001, which produced films such as "12 Years a Slave," "The Big Short" and "Moonlight." He won the Oscar for Best Picture in 2014 for the film "12 Years a Slave."

Pitt was married to actress Jennifer Aniston from 2000 to 2005 and has been dating actress Angelina Jolie, whom he met on the set of "Mr. & Mrs. Smith," since 2014. The couple has six children, three adopted and three biological, and was known as "Brangelina" until their separation in 2016.
