Bogart grew up in affluent circumstances, but his life was not always easy. He struggled with financial difficulties and a difficult relationship with his father in his youth. Nevertheless, he discovered his interest in acting early and began his career on Broadway.
His breakthrough in the film business came in the 1940s, when he played a series of outstanding roles in films such as "The Trail of the Falcon" (1941) and "Casablanca" (1942). It was mainly his portrayals of tough, cynical and mysterious characters that made him famous and established his legendary reputation as "Bogey".
