Sean Connery was a Scottish actor and film producer who was born on August 25, 1930 in Edinburgh, Scotland and passed away on October 31, 2020. He is best known for his role as James Bond in seven films in the James Bond film series and is considered one of the greatest actors of the 20th century.
Connery began his career as an actor in the 1950s, appearing in various plays and television productions before becoming an international star as James Bond in "Dr. No" in 1962. He played the role of James Bond in six more films and is considered by many fans to be the best performer of the iconic secret agent.
Away from Bond films, Connery had a successful career in Hollywood, including films such as "The Untouchables," for which he won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor, as well as "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade" and "The Hunt for Red October." He also worked as a film producer, producing such films as "The First Great Train Robbery" and "Medicine Man."
In addition to his career as an actor, Connery was also involved in social and political issues and was a strong supporter of Scottish independence. In 1999 he was knighted by the Queen and allowed to wear the title "Sir".
