Til Schweiger was born on December 19, 1963 in Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany. He is a German actor, director, producer and screenwriter.

Schweiger grew up in Heuchelheim near Giessen and studied medicine in Frankfurt, but dropped out to pursue a career as an actor. He had his first role in the 1989 film "Manta, Manta." However, he first became known to a wider audience through his role in the TV series "Lindenstraße."

Schweiger became one of the best-known German actors of the 1990s, starring in films such as "Der bewegte Mann," "Knockin' on Heaven's Door" and "Männerpension." In 1997, he made his directorial debut with the film "Barfuss," in which he also starred. Further directorial work followed, including "Keinohrhasen" and "Kokowääh."

In addition to his work as an actor and director, Schweiger is also involved in social projects. Among other things, he founded the Til Schweiger Foundation, which supports disadvantaged children and young people.

Schweiger has received numerous awards, including the Bambi, the German Film Award and the Bavarian Film Award. He is also internationally known and has appeared in Hollywood productions such as "Inglourious Basterds" and "King Arthur."

Til Schweiger is the father of four children and currently lives in Hamburg.
