Henry Ian Cusick is a Scottish actor who was born on April 17, 1967 in Trujillo, Peru. He is best known for his role as Desmond Hume in the hit US television series Lost.

Cusick grew up in Peru, Scotland and Trinidad and Tobago and studied acting at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow. He began his acting career in theater before taking on his first film and television roles in the 1990s.

Cusick became best known for his role as Desmond Hume in the successful television series "Lost," which aired from 2004 to 2010. He received several Emmy Award nominations for this role and won the Satellite Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Series in 2006.
