Travolta began his career in the 1970s in the television series "Welcome to Life", in which he played the main role of Vinnie Barbarino. However, his big breakthrough came with the film "Saturday Night Fever" in 1977, when his portrayal of the passionate dancer Tony Manero made him an overnight star and established him as an icon of the disco era.

Another milestone in Travolta's career was the film "Grease" (1978), in which he starred alongside Olivia Newton-John. The film and his iconic role as Danny Zuko made him one of the most popular actors of his time.

Now fast forward to today, present time, same situation. How quickly would the modern media make a frenzy over this? In a matter of hours, it'd be biggest story from Boston to Budapest! Ten hostages die, twenty, thirty... bam bam, right after another, all caught in high-def, computer-enhanced, color corrected. You can practically taste the brain matter. All for what? A bus, a plane? A couple of million dollars that's federally insured? I don't think so. Just a thought. I mean... it's not within the realm of conventional cinema... but what if?"
