Nicolas Cage (real name Nicolas Kim Coppola) is an American actor, director and producer. He was born on January 7, 1964 in Long Beach, California.

Cage comes from a famous family: his uncle is director Francis Ford Coppola, his aunt is actress Talia Shire and his cousin is director Sofia Coppola.

Cage began his acting career in the 1980s and received an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his role in the film "Moonstruck" (1987). In the following years he starred in numerous films and soon gained a reputation as a charismatic and versatile actor.

Cage is known for his intense and often eccentric roles. Among his best-known films are "Leaving Las Vegas" (1995), for which he won an Oscar for Best Actor in a Leading Role, "Face/Off" (1997), "National Treasure" (2004) and "Kick-Ass" (2010).
